Nexium Information

Nexium is designed in order to prevent the acid production in the stomach. This medicine may also be prescribed in order to treat the ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), certain bacteria in the stomach, and inflammation. Esomeprazole may help to prevent ulcers in patients, treating with NSAIDs.

Nexium has to be taken orally, with water, Swallow whole, do not crash or chew it. You should take it at least one hour before the meal, on an empty stomach. If you have troubles with swallowing, you may open the capsule and take the content right away with water. You may also sprinkle the content into the yogurt or applesauce, or take it with fruit juices.

Nexium Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Nexium, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately!

Keep Esomeprazole safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Children have to be treated with an extreme caution. Talk to your health care provider on this matter.

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have an allergy to Esomeprazole, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives; or liver disease.

Consult with your health care specialist before the start of the therapy if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Talk to your doctor also if you have plans for the pregnancy. It’s not known whether this medicine extracts into the breast-milk. You should discuss all the risks and benefits with your health care specialist.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider! In particular, inform your doctor if you are treating with Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Voriconazole, or other prescription medicines for fungus or yeast infections; Ampicillin; Warfarin; Diazepam; Phenytoin; iron salts; Digoxin.

Tell your health care provider if you use tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs. It may affect the therapy.

You may use antacids for the occasional relief unless your doctor recommends you otherwise.

Nexium Side Effects

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: skin rash; unusual tiredness or fatigue; chest pain or tightness; shortness of breath; dark yellow or brown urine.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: diarrhea or constipation; dry mouth; headache; flatulence (gas); nausea or vomiting.

Inform your health care provider in case you do not notice betterment in a few days.
