Amoxil Information

Read the leaflet carefully. Follow the instructions of your doctor.

You should take this medicine orally, with a glass of water. You may take Amoxicillin with or without food. If you use the chewable tablets, chew or crash them, but do not swallow a whole tablet. Do not discontinue the therapy even if you feel better. Complete the prescribed therapy.

Amoxil Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Amoxicillin, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. The intervals between your doses should be no less than 6 or 8 hours. Never take a double dose at once!

Keep Amoxil safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) in compactly closed container. Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Make sure you inform your doctor in case you experience eczema; viral infection; asthma; intestinal problems (especially colitis); other chronic illness; kidney disease; mononucleosis; leukemia; allergy to Amoxicillin; other penicillins; cephalosporin antibiotics, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservative; phenylketonuria.

Make sure to inform your health care provider if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications, herbal products or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy. Make sure you inform your health care provider in case you use birth control pills, probenecid, allopurinol, neomycin, methotrexate. Consult with your doctor before stopping or starting any therapy.

Tell your health care provider if you use tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs. It may affect the therapy.

If you are diabetic and prescribed to take large doses of Amoxil, your result for sugar in your urine may be false-positive with some brands of urine tests. Consult with your health care provider if you have diabetes.

Amoxil Side Effects

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: increased thirst; skin rash; itching; dark yellow or brown urine; seizures (convulsions); unusual weakness or tiredness; pain or difficulty passing urine; difficulty breathing; wheezing; vertigo; stomach pain or cramps; yellowing of the eyes or skin; redness, peeling or loosening of the skin, blistering, including inside the mouth; severe or watery diarrhea; vomiting; fever or chills, sore throat; pain on swallowing; unusual bleeding or bruising; swollen joints.

If you notice signs of the skin rash, contact the doctor immediately. Do not try to treat it on your own. Contact the doctor at once also if you develop severe or watery diarrhea.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: appetite loss, diarrhea, nausea, headache, heartburn, stomach gas.

Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve in 2 or 3 days.
