Zithromax Information

Zithromax is designed in order to inhibit the development of the bacterial cells, and treat the infections of the bacterial nature. This medication is a macrolide antibiotic. This medicine is used to heal the sexually transmitted vaginal or urinary tract chlamydia infections. This medicine should not be used in order to treat flu, colds, or other virus infections.

Read the leaflet carefully. Follow the instructions of your doctor.

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have pneumonia; stomach problems (especially colitis), or other chronic illness; liver disease; kidney disease; or in case you may experience an allergy to to Azithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics (such as Erythromycin), foods, dyes, or preservatives.

Inform your health care provider if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Zithromax has to be taken orally, with a glass of water. You may take this medicine with or without food. Swallow pills whole.

Do not discontinue the treatment even if you notice improvement. Complete the prescribed therapy.

Zithromax Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Zithromax, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately! Leave at least 12 hours interval between your doses.

Keep Zithromax safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) in a tightly closed container. Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider!

Zithromax Side Effects

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: severe or watery diarrhea; yellowing of the eyes or skin; dark yellow or brown urine; irregular heartbeat, palpitations, or chest pain; difficulty breathing; skin rash, itching; vomiting.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: increased sensitivity to the sun; diarrhea; nausea; vaginal irritation, itching or discharge; stomach pain or cramps; dizziness, drowsiness; headache; tiredness; hearing loss.

Do not treat diarrhea yourself. If it occurs, contact your health care provider.

Antacids can interact with this medicine. If you get a stomach disorder, and want to take an antacid, you have to leave an interval of at least 2 hours since your last dose of Azithromycin, or 4 hours before your next dose.

Inform your health care provider in case you do not notice betterment in 2 or 3 days.

Children have to be treated cautiously. Consult with your health care provider on this matter.

Consult with your health care provider right away if you develop an allergy (rash, itching, difficulty swallowing, or swelling of the face, lips or tongue).

Avoid exposure to the sun. Wear protective clothing, use a sunscreen. Avoid sun lamps and tanning booths.

Inform a doctor about your therapy before receiving any medical or dental care.
