Allegra Information

Allegra is an antihistamine. This medicine is developed to decrease allergic symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis). Fexofenadine may also decrease itchy feeling in patients with chronic itchy skin rashes.

Strictly follow the instructions, given on the leaflet.

Allegra should be taken orally. Swallow the tablet with water. Avoid drinking grapefruit, orange, or apple juice while you are treating with Fexofenadine. These drinks may influence your therapy. Take your doses at regular intervals. Never exceed the dosage, prescribed for you by doctor. It may take a few days of therapy before you notice betterment.

Allegra Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Fexofenadine, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once.

Keep Fexofenadine safe from moisture. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets. Never use Fexofenadine or any other medicines after the expiration date!

Make sure you inform your health care in case you are pregnant, have plans for pregnancy, or if you are breast-feeding.

Inform your doctor if you have a kidney disease, or if you experience an allergy to Fexofenadine, terfenadine, any other preparations, dyes, foods, or preservatives.

Make sure to tell your health care provider if you take erythromycin, ketoconazole, antacids, rifampin, St. John's Wort or drink grapefruit, apple, and orange juice. These drugs or juices may interact with Allegra.

Allegra should be used cautiously in children. Fexofenadine may be prescribed for children over 6 years. Talk to your health care provider about the possibility to use this medicine in children.

Inform your health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, herbal products, and nutritional supplements. The Allegra therapy may be affected by caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs usage.

Do not start or quit any treatment without consultation with your health care provider.

Allegra Side Effects

Consult with your doctor as soon as possible in case you experience such side effects, as infection, fever, or cough.

Such side effects as headache, dizziness, menstrual changes, stomach disorder, nausea, muscle pain, vomiting, tiredness or drowsiness do not usually need medical attention. However, consult with your health care provider if these side effects become continuous or bother you.

Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to this medicine. Sit up or stand slowly to avoid dizziness or fainting, especially if you are an older patient. However, Fexofenadine will make you less drowsy than most other antihistamines.

You may also become drowsy as a result of taking medicines for pain such as opiate analgesics (e.g. codeine); medicines for hay fever and other allergies (e.g., antihistamines); medicines for mental problems, anxieties and psychotic disturbances; barbiturate medicines for inducing sleep or treating seizures (convulsions); medicines, developed to treat mental depression (antidepressants); medicines for anxiety or sleeping problems, such as diazepam, alprazolam, or temazepam; or alcohol.

Contact with your health care provider in case you symptoms do not improve within a day or two.
