I am coughing when someone smokes near me. Is this asthma starting?

This may be just your individual reaction. Do not smoke and avoid smokers.

I never really had asthma till age 20.. It was so out of controle the dr kept putting me on prednisone along with advair and a rescue in hailer. I still take advair seasonaly. Now I am on combivent and a rescue inhailer.. I guess I just want to know will it ever go away? My quality of life has decreased even though I try not to let it stop me. I have nights where I wake up gasping for air. i sleep with my inhailer and carry it every where... I guess I feel like I will never be free again.....

Asthma is a chronic disease. Usually it does never go away. But some doctors believe and have lots of examples when chronic diseases disappear even without proper treatment.
