Crestor Information

Crestor is designed in order to inhibit the production of cholesterol. This is not a cure. Rosuvastatin is only for patients whose cholesterol level is not controlled by a special diet.

Crestor has to be taken orally, with water. You may take this medicine with or without food.

Crestor Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Rosuvastatin, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately!

Keep Crestor safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Children have to be treated with an extreme caution. Talk to your health care provider on this matter.

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have an allergy to Rosuvastatin, medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives; if you have an infection; diabetes mellitus; low blood pressure; seizures (convulsions); severe injury; muscle disorder or condition; liver or kidney disease; recent surgery.

Talk to your doctor in case you have problems with alcohol.

Consult with your health care specialist before the start of the therapy if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Talk to your doctor also if you have plans for the pregnancy. It’s not known whether this medicine extracts into the breast-milk. You should discuss all the risks and benefits with your health care specialist.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider! In particular, tell your doctor if you take birth control pills; antacids; red yeast rice; medicines to lower cholesterol or triglycerides (e.g., Fenofibrate, Gemfibrozil, Niacin); Cyclosporine; Itraconazole; Warfarin.

Tell your health care provider if you use tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs. It may affect the therapy.

Crestor Side Effects

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: muscle pain, tenderness, cramps, or weakness (especially with fever and tiredness!); unusual tiredness or weakness; blurred vision, or vision changes; decreased urination, difficulty passing urine; fever; dark yellow or brown urine; yellowing of the skin or eyes; skin rash, itching.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: dizziness; stomach pain or indigestion; constipation or diarrhea; headache; nausea, vomiting; difficulty sleeping.

You should visit your doctor regularly in order to monitor your condition. Medical tests will help to monitor the liver function.

Your health care provider may also advice you a diet in order to prevent the cholesterol problems. This medicine is only a part of the therapy.

You should not use alcohol and tobacco. Exercises will help you get a better result. Ask your health care specialist about this.

Make sure you inform a doctor that you take this medicine before receiving any medical or dental care.
