Altace Information

Altace is designed in order to help with a hypertension (high blood pressure) control. This preparation does not cure the problem; however, it relaxes blood vessels. This is an antihypertensive (blood pressure lowering agent) known as an ACE inhibitor.

High blood pressure level may lead to a stroke or heart failure. This condition may also can damage your kidneys.

Altace has to be taken orally, with water. Do not discontinue the treatment even if you notice improvement. Complete the prescribed therapy.

Consult with your health care specialist regarding the use in children, they have to be treated extremely cautiously!

Altace Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Altace, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately!

Keep Ramipril safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Make sure you tell your health care specialist if you have allergy to Ramipril, or other ACE inhibitors, medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives; kidney disease; liver disease; bone marrow disease; autoimmune disease ( e.g., lupus), or suppressed immune function; previous swelling of the tongue, face, or lips with difficulty breathing or swallowing, hoarseness, tightening of the throat (angioedema); low blood pressure; heart or blood vessel disease

Tell your health care provider in case you are on any diet!

Consult with your health care specialist before the start of the therapy if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Talk to your doctor also if you have plans for the pregnancy. This medicine may be harmful during the pregnancy! You should discuss all the risks and benefits with your health care specialist.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider!

Tell your health care provider if you use tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs. It may affect the therapy.

Altace Side Effects

Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to this medicine. Do not stand or sit up quickly in order to avoid staggers or fainting spells. You should not drink alcohol while treating with this medicine.

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: swelling of your face, lips, or tongue; dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting spells; fever or chills; decreased amount of urine passed; fast or uneven heart beat, palpitations, or chest pain; numbness or tingling in your fingers or toes; skin rash, itching; difficulty breathing or swallowing.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: headache; change in taste; tiredness; cough.

You should regularly check blood pressure while going thru the therapy in order to monitor your condition. Talk to your doctor in this matter. You should also contact your health care specialist as soon as possible in vase you notice a fever or sore throat; an uneven or fast heart beat.

Do not take salt substitutes or other foods or substances high in potassium salts.

Do not treat yourself for pain, coughs, or colds, while you are using this medicine. You should consult with your health care provider first.

Consult with your doctor if you develop severe diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, or if you sweat a lot. The loss of body fluid can make the Ramipril therapy dangerous.

Make sure to inform a doctor about the Altace therapy before receiving any medical or dental care!
