Coreg Information

Coreg is designed to treat heart failure and high blood pressure. This medicine helps to control these conditions. However, this is not a cure.

This medicine is an alpha- and beta-blocker. Its working mechanism influences the blood vessels and heart.

Take Carvedilol orally with water. You may take it with food for the best results. Strictly follow your doctor's instructions. You should follow your dosing schedule in order to achieve the maximal result from this medication. Take at the exact time each day.

Coreg Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Carvedilol, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. The interval between doses has to be at least 12 hours.

Keep Coreg safe from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Store this product at temperature between 15 degrees and 30 degrees C (59 degrees and 86 degrees F). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Consult with your health care specialist regarding the use in children, they have to be treated extremely cautiously!

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have an allergy to Carvedilol, other beta-blockers, medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives; if you have diabetes; thyroid disease; liver disease; asthma, bronchitis or bronchospasm; emphysema, or other lung disease; psoriasis; history of heart attack or heart disease; circulation problems; muscle weakness or disease; depression.

Consult with your health care specialist before the start of the therapy if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Talk to your doctor also if you have plans for the pregnancy.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider!

Talk to your health care provider before you start or stop any therapy.

Tell your health care provider if you use tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs. It may affect the therapy.

Coreg Side Effects

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: dark urine; weight gain; flu-like symptoms; yellowing of the eyes or skin; continued loss of appetite; dizziness or fainting spells; slow heart rate; irregular heartbeat; difficulty breathing, wheezing; vomiting; swollen legs or ankles; or .skin rash.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: nausea; dry eyes (especially if wearing contact lenses); unusual tiredness; back pain; sore throat; diarrhea; dry, itching skin; insomnia; or headache.

Inform medical personnel about the treatment with this product in case of any medical care, such as surgery, etc.

This medicine may cause sleepiness, vertigo or fainting. These effects may be induced in case you are taking this drug for the first time, or if your doctor told you to increase your dosage. Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to the Carvedilol. To minimize the risk of dizzy or fainting spells, do not sit or stand up quickly. Avoid drinking alcohol while going thru the therapy.

For diabetes patients: Coreg may affect blood sugar levels. Talk to your health care specialist about this. You may need a dosage adjustment.

You should check your weight daily, while treating with this medicine.

Check your blood pressure and pulse regularly while treating with this medication. You may ask your health care provider how to do it on your own. In order to control your health condition, some medical tests may be required.

Talk to your doctor if you have difficulty breathing while going thru the therapy.

Do not discontinue treating with Carvedilol even if you begin feeling well. Do not stop the therapy without having consulted with your heath care provider first. Otherwise your health condition may worsen.
