Cymbalta Information

Cymbalta is developed to treat major depressive disorder and general anxiety disorder. This medicine is an antidepressant that belongs to selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs).

The working mechanism of Cymbalta improves certain mood problems by rehabilitating the balance of natural substances in the brain (serotonin and norepinephrine. This medicine may also be prescribed in order to heal pain, caused by the damage of the nerves in patients with diabetes. Your doctor may also prescribe this medicine for other health states.

Do not chew or crush the tablet! Swallow the whole capsule.

It may take about 4 weeks before you notice betterment. Do not stop Cymbalta therapy without first talking to your health care specialist!

Cymbalta Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Cymbalta, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Seek immediate medical care in case of overdose. Confusion, fast heart rate, memory problems, sleepiness may be the signs of overdose. Seek immediate medical care in case of overdose.

Keep Cymbalta safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature. Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non prescription), herbal products or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy and lead to serious or even fatal damage!

Do not start taking Cymbalta within 2 weeks after stopping an MAO inhibitor. After you stop taking Cymbalta, you must wait at least 5 days before you start any MAOI. You should not take Cymbalta in case you have an allergy to Duloxetine, or if you have untreated glaucoma.

Inform your health care provider if you have cold or allergy to medicines, or if you use sleeping pills, narcotic pain medicine, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures or anxiety. These factors may add to the side effects.

Tell your health specialist before you start this preparation in case of glaucoma; liver or kidney disease a bleeding or blood clotting disorder; bipolar disorder (manic depression); a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts; or seizures or epilepsy.

Cymbalta Side Effects

You may have suicidal thoughts about suicide when you first start taking an antidepressant, especially if you are under 24 years old. You may require close medical monitoring. Visit your health care regularly, while going thru the therapy! Your family members should be informed about how important the changes in the mood may be.

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the allergy: difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat; skin rash or hives.

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: restlessness, overactive reflexes, fainting, coma, hallucinations, loss of coordination; loss of appetite, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), stomach pain, low fever, clay-colored stools; black, bloody, or tarry stools; diarrhea, fever, nausea, vomiting, or fast heartbeat; easy bruising or bleeding, nosebleeds.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: reduced sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm; insomnia; drowsiness, vertigo, headache; dry mouth; weight changes; feeling anxious or nervous; diarrhea, constipation; increased sweating.

Consult with your doctor in case of any disturbing side effects.

Inform your health care provider in case you notice signs of worsening. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice anxiety, hyperactive (mentally or physically), panic attacks, trouble sleeping, behaviour changes, mood changes, or in case you become impulsive, agitated, hostile, aggressive, irritable, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed. Seek medical attention if you have suicidal thoughts or thoughts about hurting yourself!

Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to this preparation. Be careful. This medicine may affect your reactions.

Avoid alcohol usage. It may cause serious damage while you are treating with this medicine!

In case of pregnancy contact your health care provider immediately! Cymbalta may cause harm to the fetus. It may be dangerous for an infant as well. This medicine extracts into the breast-milk. Talk to your doctor also if you have plans for the pregnancy, or if you are breast-feeding.

Never give this medicine to children 18 years old without the recommendation of a doctor.

Older patients may be more sensitive to the side effects of this medication.

Never share this medicine with anyone, for whom it has not been prescribed!
