Wellbutrin SR has to be taken orally with or without food. Taking it with food may help if this medicine causes stomach irritation when taken by itself. Do not crash or chew your dose, swallow whole. It may take a few weeks before you notice improvement. Do not discontinue the treatment right after you started feeling better. Talk to your doctor about the duration of the therapy.

The unusual small is normal for Bupropion tablets.

Wellbutrin SR Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Wellbutrin SR, skip the missed dose and return to your regular schedule. Never take a double dose at once, as it may worsen your condition or lead to serious problems, in particular, seizures. Never take more than 1 dose within 8 hours. In case of overdosing, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include blurred vision, light-headedness, seizures, loss of consciousness, hallucinations.

Keep Bupropion safe from heat, moisture, and light in tightly closed container. Store this product at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

You should not be treating with this medicine if you have an allergy to any component in Bupropion.

You may need to do some medical tests in order to monitor your condition. Keep all the doctor and lab appointments.

Wellbutrin SR Side Effects

This medicine may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or actions. However, depression and some mental problems may also lead to this risk. The patients going thru the Wellbutrin SR therapy have to be monitored closely. Inform your health care provider immediately in case you notice any unusual change in mood or behaviour; restless or irritable behaviour depressed mood; panic attacks, or suicidal thoughts.

Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to Bupropion. This medicine may cause sleepiness. The risk of this side effect may be higher if you simultaneously take some other medicines or alcohol. Avoid drinking alcohol while treating with Bupropion, as it may increase the risk of seizures. Consult with you doctor about this. This medicine is not recommended for patients who have stopped using alcohol or other drugs suddenly, muscle or nerve conditions, or a history of seizures.

Make sure to tell your health care provider about all your medical conditions including any mental or mood disorders, tumors, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, head injury, etc. You should not be using Bupropion if had problems with eating disorders (e.g., anorexia, bulimia).

Necessarily talk to your health care provider before starting or quitting any medicine while treating with Wellbutrin SR. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with it.

Consult with a health care provider in case of pregnancy. Risks and benefits of taking this medication during the pregnancy and breast-feeding period should be closely discussed. Bupropion is detected to extract into the breast milk.

Side effects that may appear during the therapy, and have to be talked over with a doctor in case of continuance are as follows: dry mouth, flushing, gas, constipation, staggers, sleepiness, increased urination, nervousness, restlessness, headache, increased sweating, appetite loss, weight changes, trouble sleeping, nausea, ringing in the ears, vomiting, weakness, stomach pain, taste changes.

Contact your health care provider immediately in case of the following side effects: chest pain; confusion; fever, chills, or sore throat; delusions; fainting; menstrual changes; new or worsening mental or mood changes (such as concentration problems, aggressiveness, exaggerated feeling of well-being, inability to sit still, agitation, anxiety, impulsiveness, irritability, panic attacks, or hostility); muscle or joint pain; vision changes; tremor; hearing problems; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; hallucinations; seizures; fast or irregular heartbeat; severe or persistent restlessness, nervousness, or trouble sleeping; unusual swelling; worsening depression; shortness of breath; suicidal thoughts or attempts; severe headache or vertigo; severe muscle pain.

The allergy to Bupropion is rare. If it occurs, consult with a doctor as soon as possible. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing, rash, or effects that are not listed above.

Consult with your health care provider if you do not notice betterment, or if your symptoms worsen.

Do not share Wellbutrin SR with others for whom it has not been prescribed.
