Melatonin is used to treat sleep disorders (e.g., jet lag, insomnia).

In case of insomnia, take this medicine in 2 hours before you go to bed. The result of Melatonin therapy may occur in just a half of an hour. However, it may take a few days of treatment before the mechanism starts working.

Melatonin Safety Information
In case of missing a dose of Melatonin, do not worry. However, try to remember about your doses if your health care provider advices you a regular treatment.
Keep Melatonin safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Short-term storage at 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is possible. Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.
You should not be treating with this product in case you have an allergy to any components in Melatonin; if you have ever had problems with immune system, liver disease, or stroke; if you are treating with immunosuppressant (e.g., Cyclosporine), corticosteroids (e.g., Prednisone), or Nifedipine. Tell your doctor about these conditions.
Melatonin Side Effects
Consult with your health care provider if you experience headache, or notice changes in your sleep cycle.
Contact your health care provider immediately in case of the following side effects: confusion; depression; severe allergy (rash; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; hives; difficulty breathing); hypothermia (fast breathing, shivering); quicken heartbeat.
Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to Melatonin. This preparation may cause sleepiness.
Do not use alcohol while treating with this medicine. Avoid taking other medications that cause drowsiness (e.g., sedatives, tranquilizers). Talk to your health care provider about the medicines you may take.
You should not be using this medication if you are pregnant or have plans for the pregnancy. Do not use Melatonin if you are breast-feeding. Consult with your health care provider on this matter. Melatonin may also have a contraceptive effect. You should not be using it of you are trying to get pregnant.
Melatonin has not been affirmed by the FDA. The long-term safety has not been confirmed.
Do not share your medicine with those, for whom it has not been prescribed.
