Levitra Information

Levitra is designed in order to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). This medicine is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, stimulating the induced blood flow into the penis during the sexual activity.

Read the leaflet carefully. Follow the instructions of your doctor.

This medicine has to be taken orally, with or without food. Do not take Vardenafil more than once per day. Take it in an hour before you plan sexual intercourse.

Levitra Safety Information

In case you missed your dose and still have plans for sexual activity, take your dose as soon as you can.

Keep safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

You should not be using this medicine in case you have an allergy to any component in it; if you have severe liver problems or severe kidney problems (or you are on dialysis); if you are taking nitrates (e.g., Isosorbide, Nitroglycerin) in any form (e.g., tablet, capsule, patch, ointment), nitroprusside, or certain antiarrhythmics (e.g., Quinidine, Amiodarone); if you use certain recreational drugs called "poppers" (e.g., Amyl nitrate, Butyl nitrate); if you have had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heartbeat within the last 6 months; if you have been advised by your doctor to abstain from the sexual activity because of heart problems; if you have heart problems (e.g., unstable angina, severe heart failure), uncontrolled high blood pressure, or low blood pressure; if you have certain hereditary degenerative eye problems (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa).

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have an allergy to medicines, foods, or other substances; a history of liver or kidney problems, high or low blood pressure, ulcers, bleeding problems, blood vessel problems, or heart problems (e.g., angina, heart failure, aortic stenosis); a history of certain eye problems (e.g., optic neuropathy, sudden vision loss, macular degeneration); a history of heart attack, stroke, a certain type of irregular heartbeat (long QT syndrome), or a family history of long QT syndrome; a deformed penis (e.g., Peyronie disease, cavernosal fibrosis), blood problems (e.g., multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia, leukemia), or any other health state that may increase the risk of a prolonged erection (priapism)

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider!

Levitra Side Effects

Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to this medicine. It may cause vertigo, sleepiness, blurred vision or fainting spells.

Side effects may become more intensive as a result of hot weather, work outs, fever, taking certain medicines, drinking alcohol. Sit up or stand slowly to avoid them, especially in the morning.

If you have any heart problems, the risk of heart-related side effects may increase. Use this product with caution, as in case of experiencing heart-related problems among the side effects may be heart attack and heart stroke. Headache; chest, shoulder, neck, or jaw pain; severe vertigo, an arm or leg numbness; severe dizziness, nausea, stomach pain, or vomiting; fainting; or troubled vision may be first symptoms of heart attack. Symptoms of a stroke may include vision or speech changes, confusion, and fainting, one-sided weakness. If you have these signs, inform your doctor immediately and seek medical care.

Do not use other preparations in order to treat erectile dysfunction while you are taking Levitra .

Levitra does not provide safety from spreading any sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), in particular, HIV. If you have HIV infection or an STD, use birth control barrier methods (e.g., condoms) to protect your partner.

Vardenafil does not provide safety from pregnancy. It's not a birth control preparation. To avoid the risk of the unplanned pregnancy, use effective birth control barrier methods.

Levitra may rarely cause a painful prolonged erection that does not necessarily happen as a result of sexual stimulation. This obstacle requires immediate doctor’s attention. Otherwise it may outgrow into serious problems, including impotence. In case of a painful prolonged erection search the medical attention immediately.

Women should not be treated with this medicine. Consult with a health care provider in case of pregnancy. Risks and benefits of taking this medication during the pregnancy and breast-feeding period should be closely discussed. The absorption into the breast milk has not been researched.

This preparation may also lead to mild changes in vision (sensitivity to light, colored tint or blurred vision). See your health care provider if this side effects does not go away.

This medicine should not be used in children.

Elderly patients have to be treated with an extreme caution, as they may be more sensitive to the side effects.
