Propecia Information

Propecia is developed to treat the androgenic alopecia (male pattern hair loss) in men. This medicine increases the amount of hormone, called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which inhibits the loss of hair.

Propecia is a steroid reductase inhibitor.

Read the leaflet carefully. Follow the instructions of your doctor.

Take this medicine orally, with or without food.

Do not discontinue the treatment even if you notice improvement. Complete the prescribed therapy. It may take 3 months before you notice significant betterment. Talk to your health care provider in case you do not notice improvement within a year.

Propecia Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Propecia, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately!

Keep Propecia safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

You should not be treating with this product if you have an allergy to any component in Finasteride.

Do not use this product if you are pregnant or have plans for the pregnancy. Consult with your health care provider in case of pregnancy.

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances; a narrowing or blockage in the urinary tract, prostate cancer, or trouble urinating; history of abnormal liver function tests or liver problems. Talk to your doctor about your health condition.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider! No specific interactions with Finasteride are known at this time.

Propecia Side Effects

No common side effects have been detected with Finasteride. Contact your health care provider immediately in case of breast enlargement, lumps, pain, or tenderness; testicular pain; nipple discharge; or severe allergy (difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; itching).

This medicine may rarely reduce the sexual boost. Consult with your health care provider if you notice this symptom.

Propecia is not approved for use in women. Pregnant women should avoid contacting with this medicine. The coating should prevent the risk of this contact. However, when the pill is crushed, the coating does not work. If you are pregnant, consult with your health care provider immediately in case you have contacted with this medicine. It may increase the risk of birth defects (e.g., abnormal formation of genitalia in male fetuses). It is not known if Propecia is found in breast milk.

This medicine may affect the results of some medical tests. Tell your doctor if you are using this medicine.

Finasteride should not be used in children.

Do not share this medicine with those, for whom it has not been prescribed. Ask your health care provider any questions you may have.
