Toradol Information

This medicine is designed in order to treat moderate and severe pain. It’s usually used as a short-term treatment (no more than 5 days). Your health care provider may prescribe you this treatment for other health states.

Toradol is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Read the leaflet carefully. Follow the instructions of your doctor.

Toradol is usually given first as an injection (into a muscle or a vein). Then it should be taken orally. Take the pills with a glass of water. This medicine should not be used for longer than 5 days.

Inform a doctor that you are taking this medicine before receiving any medical care.

Toradol Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Toradol, take it as soon as you remember to do so. If it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. However, since Ketorolac is taken to treat pain, you may not need to follow the schedule. Consult with your doctor on this matter. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately!

Keep Toradol safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature. Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have a stomach ulcer or a history of stomach or intestinal bleeding; severe kidney or liver disease; a closed head injury or bleeding in your brain; a bleeding or blood clotting disorder; ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease; a history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot; asthma; if you have recently had surgery; polyps in your nose; if you smoke; liver or kidney disease; heart disease, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure.

Talk to your health care in case you are pregnant or nursing! This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby, and to the nursing baby! Do not treat with this medicine if you have plans for the pregnancy. This preparation may affect your ability to get pregnant.

Do not take Ketorolac with Aspirin or other NSAIDs. Read the leaflet of any other medicine to make sure it does not contain Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Ketoprofen, or Naproxen, otherwise you may get too much of this medicine.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider!

Children under 18 years should not take this medicine.

Toradol Side Effects

Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur: black, bloody, or tarry stools; chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath; swelling or rapid weight gain; fever, headache, neck stiffness, chills, purple spots on the skin, increased sensitivity to light, and/or seizure (convulsions); coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds; nausea, stomach pain, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), low fever, loss of appetite; slurred speech, problems with vision or balance; fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash; the first sign of any mouth sores or skin rash, no matter how mild; easy bruising, severe tingling, pale skin, numbness, pain, muscle weakness; urinating less than usual or not at all. Talk to your doctor as soon as possible if you have an allergic reaction (closing of the throat; breathing discomfort; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; hives).

Consult with your health care specialist in case if the most common side effects are continuous, and if they bother you too much: ringing in your ears, mild heartburn, stomach pain, bloating, gas, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach disorder, dizziness, headache, sleepiness, or sweating.

Do not take Ketorolac if you have lately had, or if you are going to have heart bypass surgery. This medicine may increase your risk of severe heart or circulation problems. If you use it for prolonged period of time, this risk grows. This medicine may also increase the risk of severe effects on the stomach or intestines, including fatal bleeding or perforation. These gastrointestinal effects can occur without warning at any time during the treatment. Older adults may under the greater risk of these effects.

Contact with your health care provider right away in case you develop the following symptoms: chest pain, weakness, problems with vision or balance, shortness of breath, or slurred speech, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds; black, bloody, or tarry stools.

Avoid alcohol usage while going thru the therapy. Alcohol may increase the risk of severe side effects.

Talk to your health care provider in case you notice any disturbing side effects.

Do not share your medicine with others, for whom it has not been prescribed.
