Zanaflex Information

Zanaflex is designed in order to treat muscle spasms in patients with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, and other disorders that cause protracted muscles spasms.

This medicine should be taken in a while before the daily activities. The maximal result from Tizanidine occurs in an hour or two after you take the pill, and lasts up to 6 hours.

Read the leaflet carefully. Follow the instructions of your doctor.

Your health care provider is likely to begin with a dosage of 4 milligrams, and increase it gradually. Average dose for relief is 8 milligrams. Do not take more than 3 doses per 24 hours. The maximum dose per day is 36 milligrams.

Zanaflex Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Zanaflex, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once. Do not exceed the dosage. In case of overdose seek the medical care immediately!

Keep Zanaflex safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 20 to 25 degrees C (68 to 77 degrees F). Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.

Zanaflex Side Effects

Side effects cannot be anticipated. Consult with your health care provider in case you notice any disturbing side effects.

Consult with your health care specialist in case if the most common side effects are continuous, and if they bother you too much: constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, weakness or fatigue, dry mouth, flu-like symptoms, frequent urination, abnormal movements, urinary and other infections, low blood pressure, nervousness, blurred vision, vomiting, sore throat, speech disorders, runny nose, slow heartbeat.

You should not be taken this medicine in case you have an allergy to any component in it.

Do not drive, operate machinery or perform any activities, requiring high level of attention, before you find out your reaction to this medicine. It may cause sleepiness. It also may decrease blood pressure, frequently causing dizziness and light-headedness.

Make sure you do not take this preparation with other drugs that may cause dizziness and drowsiness.

Inform your health care provider if you take any other medications (even non-prescription!), herbal products, vitamins, minerals, or any supplements as they may interact with this therapy! Never start or stop any treatment without the approval of your health care provider!

Researchers do not have enough information about prolonged Zanaflex therapy, or therapy with more than 24 milligrams per day. If you need a higher dosage, the other side effects may occur.

Talk to your health care provider in case you have any liver problems. Tizanidine has shown to cause liver injury in a few cases. Zanaflex may cause low blood pressure and should be taken with caution if you are taking blood pressure drugs.

If you have any kidney problem, you may require lower dose of medicine.

Check your vision regularly. There is no information about damage in human patients, but in occurred in animal tests.

This medicine should not be used for children.

Ask your health care provider whether you may use oral contraceptives while going thru the therapy. Tizanidine may interact with them. You may need a lower dose of Zanaflex.

Do not use this preparation in case of pregnancy. Talk to your health care provider if you are pregnant or have plans for the pregnancy. Do not breast-feed without having consulted with your health care provider. It’s unknown whether this medicine extracts into the breast milk.
