Evista decreases the calcium loss and help from osteoporosis.

Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor. Read the leaflet. Do not discontinue the therapy even if you feel better. Complete the prescribed therapy, unless your doctor tells you to do otherwise.

Evista has to be taken orally, with or without food. Swallow the tablets with a glass of water.

Evista Safety Information

In case of missing a dose of Raloxifene, take it as soon as you remember to do so. However, if it's about time to take your next dose, skip the missed one and follow your regular schedule. Thus take the next dose when it's time for it. Never take a double dose at once.

Keep Evista safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature, in scope of 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F).Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.

Make sure you inform your health care provider in case you have a history of blood clots; vitamin D deficiency; high level of blood triglycerides; cancer; liver disease; low level of blood calcium; heart failure; allergy to Raloxifene, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives.

It is important to get enough of vitamin D and calcium while you are treating with Raloxifene. Talk to your health care provider about this.

Talk to your doctor about your chances to prevent bone loss. Exercises may help you. Consult with your health care provider on this matter.

Notify your doctor if you are pregnant, have plans for pregnancy or if you are nursing.

Inform your health care provider about all the medications, herbs or supplements (even non-prescription) you take. They may interact with this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are treating with thyroid hormones like levothyroxine; ampicillin; herbal or dietary supplements (e.g., black cohosh or soy).

Children have to be treated carefully. Talk with your health care provider about the possibility of such a therapy.

Consult with your doctor before stopping or starting any therapy.

Tell your health care provider if you use tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or illegal drugs. It may affect the therapy. Smoking may also increase your risk of blood clots.

Evista Side Effects

You should immediately contact a doctor in case you notice any signs of the following side effects: leg pain or swelling; difficulty breathing; skin rash, itching.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: leg cramps; sinus pressure or drainage; troubles sleeping; hot flashes; stomach or intestinal gas; stomach pain; fluid build-up; muscle aches; weight gain; sweating.

You should avoid spending too much time in bed while treating with this medicine. Evista can rarely cause blood clots. Inform your health care provider about the Evista therapy in case you have to have a surgery. You should quit taking this preparation no less than 3 days before the surgery. You may return to the treatment only when you will be able to walk again, and do not spend too much time in bed.
